Pour-over schedule calculator

A pour schedule tells you how much water should be on the scale at each point in the brew. Enter your dose and ratio to get a bloom and three equal pours with target weights.

Zero the scale with the brewer and coffee on it, then pour to each total in turn.

Try it: pour schedule

Scale the pour schedule to your dose

Total water

320 g

  1. 0:00 Bloom: pour to 40 g and wait
  2. 0:45 Pour to 135 g
  3. 1:20 Pour to 225 g
  4. 1:55 Pour to 320 g

Aim for the bed to finish draining around 2:45 to 3:30. Larger doses drain more slowly, so allow a little longer between pours.

How it works

Total water = coffee × ratio. Bloom = coffee × 2. The rest is split into three equal pours, rounded to the nearest 5 g.

The bloom wets all the grounds so fresh coffee can release gas before the main pours. Twice the dose in water is usually enough.

The times are a starting rhythm for a single cup. Larger doses drain more slowly, so allow a little longer between pours. If the brew drains fast and tastes sour, grind finer. If it stalls and tastes dry, grind coarser.
